Our Process

 

At Void, we’re dedicated to bringing you the best quality film development and scanning services available, right here in Lynchburg.

Upon order arrival at Void, your film is prepped to develop according to your order’s specifications. After developing, your film is handled and cleaned carefully to ensure a clean and accurate scanning process.

Upon completion of your order, your film negatives will be shipped back to you or can be picked up at your convenience. Your scans can be found via Dropbox delivery in your email inbox. These scans will be stored in this folder for 30 days, so make sure to save them to your cloud or hard drive!

 

 FAQs

  • Nothing more than your film labeled with your name and order number! We recommend placing your film in a small baggie (like a ziplock) to keep all of your film in your order together.

  • We recommend that you place your order with us first, then deliver your film to one of our drop boxes with your name and order number on the film. This prevents orders from being lost or mixed up in the queue.

  • Not at all! This is completely normal until you receive your scans or final product. When your order is complete you’ll then see your status marked as fulfilled.

  • Film scans are sent directly to your email via WeTransfer, negatives can be picked up from our lab or shipped to you!

  • WeTransfer is our go-to service to transfer files securely directly to you. These transfers expire after 30 days, so be sure to download those files for safekeeping!

  • We’re located at 1102 Commerce Street Suite D in downtown Lynchburg. Shoot us an email or message us on our socials and let us know when you’d like to stop by. Since we do not have a storefront, we like to ensure someone will be able to hand those over to you.

  • Typically, negatives are discarded after 60 days of the order’s fulfillment.

  • Not yet! Our lab space is in Downtown Lynchburg, but we have placed dropboxes throughout downtown for convenient film drops.

  • Unfortunately, we do not offer any printing services at this time. We hope to offer small prints with orders in the near future!

Developing and Scanning

At VOID, our services are custom to fit your creative workflow. Whether you need development of your film, scans of your images or both, we’re here for you. With film being a physical medium that may be unfamiliar to some, our goal is to make the post-shooting process as simple as possible.

Push/Pull

If you aren’t sure what this is on the order form, you’ll want to choose the “None” option to develop at the film’s intended box speed.

However, if you need to push or pull your film due to improper exposure or intentional pushing/pulling, we’ll gladly develop at your requested ISO.

 
 

File Types

JPG Standard - your standard compressed image file for internet uploads, smaller file size

JPG Large - A higher resolution option for online/digital uses

TIFF Standard- more uncompressed image file for editing, larger file size than JPG

TIFF Large - the most information for editing, tailored for professional workflows
